Finishing Touches

On Friday, they put all of our hardware and our crown molding on all of our cabinets and they also put shoe molding up and started on our porch posts.  This week, the excavator needs to come in order for us to pass final inspection (since we have some drop offs where more dirt needs to be brought in).  The painter will need to come to do touch ups, we neeed mirrors and closet organizers, and they need to add some things in our peaks. Other than that, we're about done!  Right now, they said to plan on getting our keys to move in on Thursday morning.

The back of the bar will be painted white.  It didn't get painted originally because we changed our minds and decided to put beadboard up.
Greta loves to "cheese" for pictures:-)...

Father's Day

We had a great day celebrating Joe today.  I think he had a good day too:-).  We went to Joe's parents' for lunch (my family is gone right now), did some packing and then relaxed at home tonight.

We got Joe a "Mr. Incredible" shirt for Father's Day.  He is our Mr. Incredible.  Plus it'll work great to wear in Disney:-).

 The Geurink men/boys...
Layla and Gibs both made Grandpa a card for Father's Day.  Gibs cut out (with help from me) pictures from a magazine of things that Grandpa likes.  Some of the things included were desserts, bacon, eggs, a steering wheel (for driving), pizza, deer, McDonald's, and dogs.  He knows his Grandpa:).

Siding (among other things)!

The siding is finally on!!  The siders started last Thursday and finished on Tuesday.  Appliances arrived on Tuesday.  Plumbing fixtures went in yesterday and hardware/doorknobs/crownmolding went on today.  The garage door also got installed today.  I'll post updated interior pics later.  The exterior still needs some final touches, but it's getting close!  We should be in within a week!

Pandi

On the right is Pandi, on the left is New Pandi.
Gibs LOVES pandas and has loved Pandi (the Pillow Pet) since he got him when he was little (and for some reason started calling pandas "pandi's" when he was little).  He is the one thing that Gibs almost always chooses to bring out of bed with him in the morning (and sometimes a blanket too) and often chooses Pandi to take along in the car when we go places.  Over time, people have laughed at how well loved Pandi is (and he does get baths in the wash machine, that just doesn't help).  Last week at a garage sale, Gibs saw a brand new looking panda pillow pet and of course wanted him.  I first told him "no".  Afterall, we have SO many stuffed animals.  But then after seeing how sad he was and since this New Pandi looked like he was never used, for $3, I couldn't resist.  Gibs now has been loving his New Pandi and loves to tell people that he now has two pandi's:).  Pretty sure every single person can tell which panda is new and which is VERY well loved:).  I'm curious how long New Pandi will look, well, new. :-)

Carpet...check!

Our carpet was finished being installed today, our indoor light fixtures were installed yesterday and our driveway/porch was poured yesterday!   The plumbers will hopefully come soon to install toilets/sinks and then early next week our house should finally be sided.  After that, the excavator needs to bring some more dirt and then I would think we could get inspections done and start moving in!  We are really excited.
It's hard to get nice pictures when everything looks so messy now:).
The kids were really excited about the carpet!

Ring around the rosie in Gibs' room...
I love how Greta joins right in with Gibs and Layla...

18 Month Stats

Greta had her 18 month appointment last week.  She didn't like the doctor touching her at first, but then in typical Greta fashion, found her happy place with her thumb and was fine.  She is not talking a whole lot, but the doctor said she's still in the normal range for an 18 month old.  They expect them to say at least 8 words in addition to mama  and dada and she does, but she doesn't say that many words and doesn't put any words together yet.  I'm sure eventually she will:-).  She was doing well in all other areas (fine and gross motor skills and such).  The doctor asked if I had any questions about potty training and I said I didn'tn because I do not plan on training her any time soon!  She definitely does not seem ready yet!
We love her so much and still think of her as our "baby" and probably always will:-). She is a major mama's girl and loves to snuggle up on my shoulder and suck her thumb.  It's sweet to see her suck her thumb now, but obviously at some point, we'll have to work on breaking that habit!  She still loves baby dolls, but not quite as much as she used to.  She loves playing anything her big bro and big sis are playing with.  She also loves playing outside with her cozy coupe and with scooters and little trikes.  Here are her stats.

Weight: 22 lbs 6 oz -- just under 50th %
Height: 32.25" -- between 50th and 75th %
Head: 46.6 cm -- around 50th %

Funny that her percentages were all exactly the same as Gibs' at 18 months.  Funny too that when I looked back on my blog for Gibs' stats, I was over halfway done with my pregnancy with Greta and when I looked back at Layla's 18 month stats, I was less than a month away from having Gibson.  I can't imagine that now.  I enjoy not being pregnant:-).  I love our family of five (and a half = Elvis) and love having Greta as my baby:-).
