Friday At Last!

Tonight we were planning on going to the Tulip Time fireworks, but they were canceled due to rain (even though it hasn't rained tonight yet--but it is very windy!). It actaully ended up working out okay because Joe and I were both very tired from having a long week and from staying up late last night watching t.v. (ok, late for us anyway--anything after 11 is late for us!). Now we can be fully rested up for our birthing class tomorrow. The class starts at 8:30, but we're meeting Curt and Jamie for breakfast at 7:30 (yes, we are taking the class together!) so we barely get to sleep in:(. I'm excited for the class though, it makes me feel like we're closer to my due date. I'm sure it's not going to be as exciting as I think:).

Our crib came in (earlier than expected) so that is set up now, we're just waiting for the changing table. I feel like time has been going quickly now--I'm almost in the 3rd trimester! At the moment I'm happy to have 3 months left because I still have stuff that needs to be done before we have Baby, however, I'm sure that as we get closer to the date, time will start to go VERY slowly (that's what people tell me anyway). I think it's a good thing that God made pregnancy take 9 months, that way by the time you're at the end you are SO ready to have the baby that you aren't nervous/scared of the delivery.

On another note, we came home tonight to Elvis greeting us at the door. He had been "locked" in his crate like normal, but apparently I didn't secure the door correctly because he somehow go out! Our rug by our door was torn to shreds, he peed in the basement and our pillows on our couch were tossed all about. Thankfully that was it! He just doesn't know what to do out of his crate if we're not home because we've never given him that option. Plus it stormed today which always gives him anxiety, so the combination of the two things wasn't good! He was very tired when we got home, but we still went for a walk to the creek down the road to drop off a turtle we found in our backyard (not sure how he got there--cute little guy:) ). Needless to say we are all very ready to go to sleep soon:).

And on a final note--congrats to Darrell and Lindsey on the birth of Jonathan Alan yesterday!!! She is the first in our group of friends to have her baby, so it's very exciting. Jonathan is adorable and they are all doing very well:). Here are a few pics.

Painting Time

This past weekend we worked on painting Baby's room. By we, I mean Joe and his dad (although I did finish the edges that didn't get done very well the first time). It doesn't really need to be done this early, but we just wanted to get that out of the way. After they finished the first coat we thought it was REALLY bright, but now that we're used to it I really like it. Babies like bright colors anyway, right? :) We baby-sat my nephew Remi over the past week, so the dogs had fun watching the room get painted.

Elv has now adjusted to being in our room (instead of what is now Baby's room). It took him a bit to get used to and I think having Remi with him in our room helped. The first night he slept in our room he just kept standing by the door in our room and would look at us, look at his room (which was empty in preperation for painting), and then look back at us. He was so confused, but thankfully now over a week later is doing great in our room.

Now that the nursery is painted it gets me excited to start putting the rest of the stuff in it, but I realize I have 16 weeks to work on that, so we'll just keep adding things one thing at a time:)

Here it is with the circles we put on a couple of the walls.

Pretty Low Key

Not a whole lot has been happening in our lives. Last Friday I had off of work for Good Friday and this past Friday I was sick--I could get used to a four day work week:). Last Friday morning and Saturday night we babysat Gavin. Good practice I suppose:). I had my ultrasound follow up appointment on Monday and after waiting over an hour for my appointment, it took the doctor about 1 minute to tell me about my u/s. As long as everything is okay, that's fine by me!! We also bought a new car this week--I'm sure Baby will enjoy it:) These next few months I'm sure we'll keep finding more and more stuff to buy for Baby!

Who is in the stroller??
Elvis of course!!

Getting Ready For Baby

We had our ultrasound today and it went well! The tech can't really tell us anything, but at least we saw the baby and it looked good to us! I'll post pics later once I scan them in. It was just amazing to see it moving all around. She said it was a very active baby. Hopefully it calms down before it comes out:).

A year ago today was when we left for Mexico last year. We were talking about it today via email and someone suggested we go again in 10 years--10 years?!? We'll be close to upper thirties by then--yikes!!!!!!! That's way too far off to think about--I'd like to just focus on this year:)

Yesterday we went to my parent's for lunch which was nice since we hadn't seen them for awhile. My mom and dad left for Mexico today--I'm very jealous! It was my birthday lunch plus my mom (and Em) had some clothes for baby so that was fun for me. It was fun to put baby's stuff in the closet. Joe currently keeps his clothes in the baby's room (currently Elv's room:) ) so we've been working on moving Joe's stuff into my closet in our room. We're making progress! Here are some of baby's new stuff--so cute!! And no, there isn't pink in there for an particular reason--my mom saw it on sale and thought it was cute and figured if we can't use it, someone else is bound to have a girl and can have it!

Lazy Day

Today we babysat nephew Gavin all day. It was good because it kept us in the house and away from spending money running errands as we often do on Saturday mornings (and evenings). I got some laundry done and did some reading, but aside from that I didn't do a whole lot. I asked Joe if he was sure he wanted a kid and he said there was no going back (only kidding, Gavin!). We all had nap time this morning (even though we had plenty of sleep last night!). Joe, Elv, and Remi enjoyed napping in the sun while Gavin was comfy in his pack and play.

Gavin enjoyed some applesauce and Elv looked after Gavin while Gavin played.

Elv and Remi had fun times playing together. They look calm here, but trust me, they are not always calm! A good day was had by all:)

They Come and Go Too Quickly

Another weekend is over and done with...sadly:( They always fly by and before I know it I'm back at work. We kept pretty busy this weekend. Friday night was the youth group fundraiser for their trip to MT this summer. The entertainment was Calvin's improv group, River City Improv. They did an awesome job and were very funny! Then Saturday we ran errands and I had Lindsey's shower in the afternoon. The guys hung out while we were at the shower and then we just watched a movie at Brad and Jill's afterward. Sunday was the usual church, dinner at Joe's parents this week, and then back to church and Bible study after church. Here are some pics from the shower.
Yes, that's Lindsey behind the diaper. It was hard to get pics of Lindsey with all the children crowded around her!A baseball shirt for Darrell...I didn't notice any camo...although I might just not remember it, there were a lot of clothes!
Mobile...I think...
Lindsey's family knew us as the "Mexico Girls".

Preggers!!! (in order of due date) I was standing on my toes...why am I still short?!?
