We were quite crowded fitting everyone into our house! It worked well that I LOVED monkeys as a kid so I had plenty to use as decorations:) (and I've even gotten rid of some!).
The menu consisted of beef chili, white chicken chili, bread, jello and baked potatoes...

Gibson was not in the best of moods for his party (especially at the beginning). He had napped for 4 1/2 hours that day (which worked great while I got everything ready--Layla napped for 3 1/2 which is a long time for her) so I thought he'd be good to go, but I think from being behind on sleep and dropping his morning nap and being sick it wasn't a good combination! I thought it was funny that he had been trying out his new sled and then suddenly covered his eyes like this for like almost a minute straight! It was like he was trying to pretend there weren't people around and just wanted a minute to himself to rest:).

Opening gifts!
It was really Elvis' party too since he turned 6 the day before! It's sad that Elv is 6 already since in doggie years that means he's getting pretty old:(. Elvis will always be our first born:). It seems like a lot of people get sick of their dogs once they have kids, but I still love him and love seeing the kids have fun with him. There are times when I get annoyed because I've just gotten the kids all fed and them Elv will want his food, but really, overall, he's WAY less maintenance than my children:). And he's really good with the kids which is nice too.

This Mickey doctor kit was a gift from us and has been a big hit with big sissy:)...actually right after I wrote that Layla just gave Gibson a "shot" on his forehead! He doesn't cry very often from things that she does to him, but that made him cry! And it left quite a mark:(. And there's a flashlight in the set that we need to remind Layla to not shine in people's (mainly Gibson's) eyes!

Apparently the guys were watching something pretty interesting on the computer while Layla enjoyed Gibs' new computer from Grandpa and Grandma...

The next day Layla was having fun taking him for sled rides around the house and he loved it too!
I got this Gibson sign for his room before he was even born and FINALLY put it up! When I had taken Layla's name off the wall it had taken some drywall with it so that needed to be fixed first obviously. It only took a year:), actually longer! And it looks like it's on a slant on this picture, but I swear it's not:).

Gibs has his one year appointment tomorrow. I'm curious to see how much he weighs! We went to may sister's for lunch today and on their baby scale he was almost 23 lbs and Layla was 26:).
Happy Birthday Buddy! We love you so much!! It's amazing how quickly adding him to our family felt natural. He's a perfect fit and I love our little family of four and a half (I'm including Elvis--no announcement here!!)! :)
