Day 10

Gibson is back on the bili lights (the blanket kind). His count was up so they had to put him back on. Hopefully he'll be off in the next couple of days. He did okay with feedings through the night (took around 35/52mL) and then for his 9am and noon he didn't take very much. I got there after lunch as usual and got him to finish his 3pm and 6pm and then he came really close to finishing his 9pm for me (Em and Mike were nice enough to let Layla sleep over tonight so that we could stay for his 9pm feeding--otherwise we leave around 7 to get Layla to bed)! So hopefully he does well throughout the night too! Please pray that the nurses allow him time to finish his bottles and that he can stay awake during feedings so that he can get closer to coming home. He weighed in last night at 5 lbs 3 oz so he is continueing to gain weight.

This is random, but one of the moms in the nursery today said that if their daughter had been a boy his name would have been Gibson (her husband plays the guitar--clearly not our reasoning for naming him that as we are not musical people:D). What's weird is that Layla's first neighbor in the NICU would have been named Layla if he had been a girl. Anyway, I thought that was a funny coincidence:).
