Layla's Leis

I bought some leis today in preparation for her birthday party. She thought they were pretty fun to play with. The video isn't too exciting, but I barely take any, so I thought since I did for once, I might as well post it:-). Of course right before I started recording her she was playing with her leis like crazy but then stopped as soon as she saw the camera!

Early Easter

We celebrated Easter a week early today at my dad's house. Him and Joyce (mainly Joyce) made a delicious Easter dinner for everyone!

I've said before that it's hard to get a good pick of our friends' kids together, but it's even more difficult to get a good pic of kids together that are all very mobile (aside from Layla). I think these next two were the best ones! :-)

10 Months Old!

Layla is 10 months old today!! I can't believe we'll be celebrating her first birthday in only two months! That means only two more months of bottles! Yea! She often doesn't really like bottles. She'd much rather eat. She's still eating good--she'll eat a little bit of about anything, but she'll keep eating and eating things like bread, crackers, pancakes, etc. It's been so fun to watch her grow and develop. It's fun to see how her playing with toys changes--she understands better now how to make things "work". She hasn't said any actual words yet (although I swear she's looked at me a couple of times recently and said 'mama' but I know it's probably just a coincidence:-D)--but she's started to make lots of new noises and loves "talking". She waves "hi" sometime, but not "bye".

I took her to the doctor this morning to make sure she didn't have an ear infection and she doesn't, so I was "that mom":-). Well, at least now I know, and I don't have to worry about her possibly having infected ears on the airplane when we go to Disney. And it worked nice that she could get weighed on her 10 month birthday...she was 15 lbs 6 oz. So she's gaining, but still a little peanut! I just measured her and she was about 27.5" (or a little bit more)--my measuring wasn't real accurate, but I'm not sure how accurate the Ped is at measuring all the time either:-).

Play Date

Today Layla's buddies Alden and Ella came over for a play date (with their mommies too of course!). It's tough to get a good picture where they're all looking at the camera!

Notice how Layla always takes toys from Alden in the following pics. We'll have to work on her sharing skills when she gets a little older. She already seems quite assertive whenever she's around other children...that could be trouble! She always wants what she doesn't have...typical girl!

Movin' On Up

Layla pulled herself up onto something for the first time on her own tonight!! She did it a couple of times while we were eating dinner. She's been getting so close for awhile now, so she was quite happy to finally do it!

I Swore

I swore I would never own a pair of Crocs. I think they're ugly. I do think they're cute on kids though, so I did get Layla a couple of knock-offs awhile back. Well, I ended up giving in and getting a pair for me. They were pink, they had Mickeys on them, and they were on sale. How could I resist?!? And they even had matching ones for Layla (unfortunately only black/red). They've been pretty handy to wear to go get the mail and such. The day that I got them we were watching Ugly Betty when we got home and they made fun of them on them on the show! Maybe it was a sign that I shouldn't have caved in!! :-)

She won't keep them on her feet as they're a size too big...

She's rather suck on them...(don't worry, they're clean:-D)


Layla hasn't learned to crawl yet. Sometime she scoots backwards, but no crawling yet. She gets very frustrated! She's been especially crabby this week, so hopefully it's teeth and not an ear infection or something. She's been even droolier than normal, so I'm hoping it's just teeth!
