This week Layla has been off of her normal evening sleep schedule. She typically goes down for a nap after her supper feeding at about 6, then I wake her up and feed her at 9:30ish, put her right back to sleep and she sleeps until 8am or shortly after that. This week she's been not sleeping quite as much between the 6pm and 9:30 feeding (one time waking up and wanting to eat at 7:30 and one time wanting to eat at like 8:30) and she's been waking up at 6am. At least after she eats at 6am, she goes right back to bed and sleeps until 9 or 10 which then gives me time to do some work, but this morning she woke up at 5am! That is too early for me to be waking up! Even 6am is too early for me to be waking up every morning! So I then go back to bed and sleep in until 8 or 9 which is just a waste of my time. I guess I figured there would come a time when she would stop sleeping so good, I had just hoped it wouldn't be yet. O, well, maybe she's just going through a growth spurt or something.
She is growing...I took her to get her Synagis shot today (to help protect her against RSV since she was a preemie) and she weighed 11 lbs 2 oz! She did not see her doctor today, so I'm not sure if she's on the growth charts yet or not. We go back for her 6 month appointment in about a month, so we will find out then. She REALLY did not like the shot today. I think she hates shots more and more each time she goes in. After she got poked she just turned red in the face and had this horrified look for about a minute before the crying/screaming began--like she was in shock at what had just happened--she gave this look like, 'Why in the world are you hurting me?!?'. Poor little thing:-). And now she'll have to have this shot every month for the next 4 months--at least next time she can get this shot at the same time as her other vaccinations so she gets them over with at the same time! Maybe by the time she has the 5th shot she'll be used to it--yeah, right, I doubt that!!

I don't think they ever get used to the shots. It's way easier when they are newbies, that's for sure. Just wait unti she's 2. When they really know what's going on is when it's tough. Not that I'm dismissing that it breaks our hearts when they are babies, but it's tougher when they are older in my opinion. It's great that she's growing so well. Sounds like she's a great sleeper so it's only fair that she's going through a phase. Kolter still has phases every now and then. I'm sure it'll pass and you'll be back on track.
