I have added dairy back in to my diet now for the past couple of months and Layla seems to be doing fine with it so we can stop using Neocate (which we have to buy from the pharmacy) and start using Neosure (formula for preemies) to add to my milk. We still have to add that to my milk for extra phosphorus and calories. I have now been pumping for 6 months which is about 3 months longer than I had planned on, so we'll see how much longer that lasts! Knowing now that she can be on a normal over-the-counter (and quite a bit cheaper!) formula makes me want to stop pumping, but now that I've gotten so used to it, it doesn't seem that bad to keep at it for a little while yet. I waste about 2 1/2 hours pumping every day so once I stop I'm not going to know what to do with all my extra time:-). I probably won't check Facebook quite as much:-).
I love looking at her hospital pictures. It's amazing to me to see how big she's gotten in only 6 months! Here is a little flashback from 6 months ago.
Shortly after birth...
So cozy in her isolet...
Getting some lovin from her daddy...
Relaxin' under her bili lights...
She settled down better after her shots this time. Last month she only had one shot and screamed hysterically until we left. Yesterday she had 5 (3 immunizations, her flu shot and her RSV shot) and sceamed for a bit but settled down after a bit. I think that the older she gets the harder it's getting for me to watch her get poked. She was so happy right before the shots babbling to and smiling at the nurses. Then as soon as she got poked she went into shock and just gave me this sad look like, 'Why are they hurting me?!?'. Then came tears and screams.

Your little one just steals my heart! She is oh so cute and what a little personality she'll have--she's been a fighter since day one, right? That's why she's doing so well!!
Oh, and I'm not convinced she'd be A TON bigger anyway, since mama is so teeny tiny...
About the pumping thing...why only three months? Am I going to eat my words because I would like to for 10 months to a year...
Yes, I don't think it's in Layla's genes to be 6 ft tall, so she'll probably always be little:-).
I only wanted to pump or breastfeed for a few months because I had wanted to be done by the time I went back to work. Now I just pump at lunch though and it's not that big of a deal. And it's really more a pain for be b/c I'm not breastfeeding at all--strictly pumping--so it's just very time consuming to have to feed her and pump. I would say there's nothing wrong with having a goal of 10-12 months but to just be open about it and if it doesn't work for you to do it that long then that's fine, but if it does work to do it that long, then that's fine too!
O, and thanks for calling her cute, we think so too:-).
She is such a doll!! And WOW! You can really see how much she's grown next to the doll. That is amazing!
